Why people go and do things like this is complicated. Many psychologists believe it’s related to the Albert Pujols Dominican-American former professional baseball first baseman T-Shirt Additionally,I will love this needs of ancient humans that drive a small portion of us to want to explore even when it may kill us. This sort of individual would have hunted mammoths with sticks or whales in a small boat and would have crossed the mountains to find the next better place for the tribe. In today’s world…there isn’t much actual application for this short of Space travel…but some people just have a drive to go and see and feel…even if it risks their death. Yeah it’s pretty weird on the one hand, but on the other, it’s also really fucking exhilarating and kind of a rush, and I say that as a relatively low-key mountaineer who has no ambitions to climb anything more challenging than my local volcanoes here in the Pacific Northwest.

My idea of an “expedition” is to leave my house at 1am, leave Timberline Lodge at 3am, summit Mt Hood at around 10 or 11am and be back home in Portland by 5pm. It’s a full day and you’ll know you’ve been in a fight, but it’s also a lot of fun and relatively low-risk provided you know what you’re doing and don’t do anything stupid. Also, remember conditions are extremely changeable. When you see a picture it looks like they are resting. But they could have been in one of Everest’s infamous blizzards. They could have been basically blind and curled up. Hypothermia makes you feel so tired too! You do feel like your body needs to stop when in fact it makes it worse. What about when there are queues on the Albert Pujols Dominican-American former professional baseball first baseman T-Shirt Additionally,I will love this mountain? We’ve all seen those photos of all the climbers stretched out down the hill waiting their turn to go through some pinch point? How are they keeping warm? … And for some, they may have been suffering from cerebral or pulmonary edema as well, the collection of fluid in your skull or your lungs due to low atmospheric pressure at high elevation. 8000+ metres known as the death zone – not just because climbers are at risk of dying from accidents or hypothermia, but mainly because their bodies are actually dying. Oxygen deprivation causes organs to go into survival mode and will eventually fail if the climber stays in the zone for too long. Here I was thinking I’d die of old age/natural causes, today I learned we’ll all die of hyperthermia, dehydration and oxygen deprivation… Bummer.
