I’ve had 3 au pairs over the Adele grammys 2023 shirt also I will do this years and always treated them like family. Our first and best au pair ended up finding an American husband and she still comes back to visit us yearly. Our second au pair was very attractive and young and frankly ended up partying every night she was off and she started to be dangerous for our kids. Our 3rd au pair is still with us and she’s like a family member to the kids and us. Not sure why everyone thinks it’s like slavery or something. Because an au pair is in a very weak position in your household + severed from any close relatives or support group. Perfect conditions for abuse. I should mention that I don’t think you do that. A friend of mine was an au pair and she had good experiences with one family and some really scary.

[Edit] treating someone like family is not a professional work environment. If a company says “we’re a family here” it’s a huge red flag! As a nanny, having your nanny family treat you like family is actually nice. It’s not a normal work environment. I’m literally there to take care of their home and all family members. So basically if the Adele grammys 2023 shirt also I will do this mom is having a hard day, I bring her favorite snacks and her favorite drink. If the dad is, I bring him favorite snacks and coffee. If I’m having a hard day they surprise me with treats and says “go home early”. When I’m sick, I can choose to come in or not. But if I do, it’s a movie day. I take the kids to events and I host playdates with their friends. I run the household errands and get food. The professional boundaries with nannying is different then an office or other role. I have been in office positions were people make adult jokes or have drinks with co-workers have. Those would be inappropriate with my nanny family.
