I know it’s crazy. My friend who is a Car mechanic reckons secondhand cars have held their price over the Aaron Donald Bootleg American football defensive tackle for the Los Angeles Rams T-Shirt and I will buy this the last 3 years and are only just starting to come down now. He said this when I looked at how much my secondhand £10K Skoda Yeti I bought three years ago was now worth. Turns out circa £9,800! All due to the drought of new cars in the last few years due to the microprocessor shortage which inflated used car prices. It’s depressing. Ten years ago I bought a very good ten year old car that had ~40k miles on it for £3k. Now £3k only buys you a twenty year car with ~100k on it. Part prices are off the charts aswell one of my cars needs discs & pads can’t get anything decent for under £200 the main dealer wants over £200 just for the discs

2012 Hyundai i10 with 70k miles for just under £4000nothing else around me to beat it at the Aaron Donald Bootleg American football defensive tackle for the Los Angeles Rams T-Shirt and I will buy this time it was mental. Don’t think I’ll live in an age of low costs or higher wages When I bought my current car 10 years ago it was 7 years old (2007 Astra 1.6) and had 60k miles. That cost me around £3k. Now the cheapest 7 year old car, that isn’t crap, that I can find within 60 miles of me is at least £4k & they all have a minimum of 90k+ miles. If I want at least a 1.6L engine or higher the prices start at £5k lol. I’m going to just keep pumping money into my current car as that works out much cheaper, plus my insurance is still only around £180-£200 per year. It’s a 62 plate Corsa with 30,000K on the clock. Turns out I could sell it for about £4.5K, I only paid £5k for it in 2018. Mad. Same with secondhand cameras. It’s insane that something I bought in 2012 for £100 is still worth the same money. Ancient cameras seem to be going up in price There is a lot more demand for older cars now as they have been built a lot better the past 15years and so are much more reliable. A 15years old car when I started driving in the 90’s was full of rust and at the end of its life and full of mechanical issues. Now a 15yo car will start and not be showing signs of age because of the improvements made in the manufacturing/ paint and much better tolerances in the mechanics As someone who sold their car last week, I’m a big fan of second hand car prices at the moment! Managed to get £1k more than I was expecting, regardless of a cracked bumper and more dents than I could count.
