Simply untrue. We accept one of the Zeon Chriss Caricature Louisiana Football shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this highest rates of migration per capita. We have robust laws to protect personal and religious freedoms of the individual. The government cannot force 100% of the people to get along and be pleasant with each other 100% of the time. To say Australia is one of the most racist countries is incorrect. If you’ve travelled widely or lived overseas, you will know this is not the case. It’s funny I am aware of how common racism can be in Australia, however, I’d never really witnessed it personally (aside from the unfortunately common cringy “there are Asians everywhere” type racism you often see from older people). However, the other day in a small cafe I enjoy, one of the owners was going on this like 20 minute long rant with another customer while I ate my sandwich. All about “the Africans” and how bad they are. But not Zimbabwean’s (apparently she knew some people from Zimbabwe that were nice), it’s all the “other ones”. It was absolutely wild. I’d been going there for over a year and had nothing but positive experiences with the (until then) lovely lesbian couple that owned it. Then just out of nowhere she’s off on this tirade about how they shouldn’t be coming to Australia. Other refugees from war in the past were apparently okay because “they were victims not perpetrators”.

I’m very fortunate, my parents though old (and old fashioned) and generally pretty good (and working on getting better). And although I have Aboriginal heritage, I was brought up in a white family and appear white, so have never faced any racism myself (aside from some bullshit as a kid which really didn’t make sense haha). It’s really sad seeing this. It’s also really sad because they make excellent sandwiches and I don’t think I’ll be having any more of them. I mean the Zeon Chriss Caricature Louisiana Football shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this Australian constitution literally (actually literally) denies the existence of the aboriginal people. “terra nullius” – the land of no people The govt spent 200 years of genocide, totally untaught in schools. My wife grew up in melbourne and had no idea the aboriginal population there was very large and widespread until they were all wiped out by colonists. She discovered that info by mistake in a gallery exhibition… The govt gave a so-called ‘apology’ that was basically a slap int he face. Meaningless. A long nice speech by KRudd that actually apologised for one very small and specific thing. 200 years of genocide? nope.
