All to be said, you make some sacrifices to take a more balanced job, I view the Yuta Watanabe Signature Japaneses Basketball Phoenix Suns T-Shirt Besides,I will do this financial freedom and optionality from more work to be worth it. I dont know about you, but if I am working more than 40 hours a week, my salary better scale more than proportionally. I would say its not worth it unless you dont mind working extreme overtime. I make about 130k. I have PTO coming out my ass (currently, I think I have about 240 hours accrued) and I get 8 hours per pay period. I’ll get a pension when I retire. I can easily make $200k+ in another job. I was making only slightly more money in 2005 than what I’m making now (corrected for inflation). But, I work 40/hr a week and if my kids get sick or I want to go on vacation, it’s not a problem. At the other job, I was expected to work 50 hours a week, minimum.

I make over 200k and I can tell you I wouldn’t do it for 60 hours a week, fuck that. The govvy and state (if applicable) takes a lot more at that point…. You’re better off having less but a better work-life balance I’d take the Yuta Watanabe Signature Japaneses Basketball Phoenix Suns T-Shirt Besides,I will do this higher stress and higher paying job in a heartbeat IF you also would enjoy the work. Some of the best memories I have are during times of high stress and great accomplishment. My worst memories and years of life where I felt like they were most wasted? I was working 40 hours a week at 96k a year with very little stress in a basically dead end job. I spent 6 years doing that because it was decent paying especially considering how little stress I had. I was afraid to lose it. I never took risks. I skated along. I never achieved much of anything and I regret every one of those 6 years there. I was so bored at that job, i had a side-hustle where I made another 120k a year on top of that. It was a full blown business with 12 employees. Between the two jobs I worked on average 60-80 hours per week. I loved every minute working on my own business.
