It was only as I left the Yovngchimi Rapper Shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this hostel I remembered/realised we were in Amsterdam. I was that idiot moaning about the food being weirdly European when in mainland Europe. Naively I didn’t check about visas and stuff, and most of the people I worked with were Kiwis and so didn’t need them. Turned up to check in for my flight and they asked for my visa after scanning my passport. To my horror my immediate reply was ‘but I’m British’, which made me feel like a right arrogant dickhead and drew a very condescending look from the desk agent. Fortunately it was free, all online and only took 5 minutes to get, but I still made myself look a right cock and felt very sheepish going back to the desk with my email.

Trying out my very limited Spanish at the Yovngchimi Rapper Shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this ticket desk for the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona (where they speak Catalan anyway). Thought I was saying ‘I don’t understand’ (‘no comprendo’). Instead I was saying ‘no compro!’ (‘I’m not buying!’) Switched to English, all resolved… Saying Bonjour as we left somewhere. My partner at the time pissing herself laughing and calling me Del Boy for days afterwards I remember me and my mate were drunk and hungry in Spain after watching a football match, and we stumbled into a fancy fish restaurant. We both ordered the most expensive thing on the menu, which was a large mixed grilled fish platter, and then proceeded to bite through prawns that still had their shell on and fish with the scales on and the entire skeleton still inside them. I remember people staring at us as we cracked through the shells with our teeth and made retching sounds as we tried to wash it down with our pint of lager. We ended up leaving most of the food as it was too much like hard work just to chew it. We paid a generous tip and then went down the street to buy some chips. It was only when I told the missus about the weird food that she told me we were supposed to remove the shells and eat around the bones. I sometimes wonder what the locals must have thought.
