Something isn’t right with this. Did your grandparents have some kind of family home they inherited or something? My parents are in their 80’s, both worked full time – my mother was a director for the You matter suicide awareness birds shirt Apart from…,I will love this state and my father was in construction. We did not have that kind of money or house or boats growing up. We lived in a small house on a busy highway with one bathroom, had one car and we all got clothes passed down to us. Food was economical and vacation once a year consisted of driving 50 miles to a dude ranch for 4 days. My parents did not waste money on other frivolous things either. I got a new job awhile back and my dad guessed at what my salary was and threw a “very high outlandish” number out there that is 1/3 of what I make. It’s the most HE ever made and he’s 66. He bought a beautiful house with that salary and put 2 kids thru college with it. But even with what I make, I can’t afford a house where I live. And don’t feel like I can afford to have kids either. His conception of what is “a lot” is based on like 1987. The system is broken. The only way to fix it would be for 2 or 3 generations of workers to go to war against our corporate overlords. I’m not holding my breath for that to happen. I’ve already checked out and am just trying to get out of the rat race and survive.

My grandma was a homemaker while the You matter suicide awareness birds shirt Apart from…,I will love this kids were growing up and my grandpa worked for the post office then they both later worked for the state. They had 4 kids, had a nice home and have retired fabulously. Between the 2 of them they have 3 pensions and have traveled the world, always have new cars (that are paid in full), and live in a beautiful home on a golf course. Neither of them are college educated. My husband and I both have advanced degrees, but have had to get through numerous job layoffs and I have college debt. When I graduated from college, I made less than what my mom made when she did and our house cost more than double what my parents paid for theirs. While we do well for ourselves now, we aren’t nearly at the financial security my grandparents and parents had at our age.
