Lately if there’s a game I want to share with my daughter, I’ll make a female character just to get her more into it as I’d imagine it’s more relatable and welcoming for her. Lot of times they are slimmer character models, so for FPS games it gives a slight visual advantage. Some games like apex legends actually have different hitboxes between characters. I also don’t mind having an occasional dump truck for a change. Some games offer smaller hit boxes for females, which is a plus, all in all though I play as a female because evie Frye is badass. 1.Because other man are stupid and give free stuff and needlessly help . Most girls I know doesn’t even like to be carried throughout a game . My current partner plays lots of different characters, including women, but it’s mostly for the You can’t scare me have a crazy carpenter stupid people use him shirt moreover I love this variety of a new look. My bf says it’s because he’d rather look at a women all day while playing instead of a dude, and he likes picking the outfits more It depends on the game for me. If it is something like Control or Tomb Raider, it is because that is who the protagonist is. When I played Left 4 Dead, the game engine tried to follow all of the classic tropes. Zoe had THE WORST AI and was always the first one down. When I started playing as her, I was doing better in fights because I essentially had an extra player every time the horde came for us. I don’t have anything to add, but as a woman who games (I only play Skyrim, and I play it obsessively) this thread is so damn wholesome. My favorite character I’ve ever created was a purple Argonian named Lizzy Hist-guire. She does love a good dress.

I’m a gay man, so I’d play as a female character just for the You can’t scare me have a crazy carpenter stupid people use him shirt moreover I love this romance options. I would have played Fable 3 despite lackluster reviews, but I was a little peeved that there was no option to have your childhood sweetheart, played by a hunky Nicholas Hoult, if you wanted your avatar to be a man. Some would rather look at a woman’s backside than a man’s e.g. third person shooters. There’s also an allure of “seeing how the other half lives” or expressing oneself through a feminine avatar in the safety of a video game. I feel like they tend to have better customization options. Also a plus is if the game is PVP I love hearing guys rage when they think it’s a female killing them. Especially if it’s a female I customized. I had a buddy who would only make female characters in every game. I myself usually make a character who’s similar to myself (I know, boring). They used to use the excuse that they’d rather look at girl booty than guy booty when playing. 5 years later they came out as trans woman and it all kinda made sense.
