Lol were you holding back production? I guess you should have cranked up some code to push the You are not Santa’s Helper Shirt moreover I will buy this deadline the next day you were hired. Good riddance I say. They have some reasons but want to make you feel bad by saying such a bs. I’m at a fortune 20 and this would never happen. If I had an intern on the team I’d be helping with PR feedback and also not dumb enough to not slowly onboard onto the team and codebase Don’t think it’s your fault. It’s completely insane to expect any employee, much less an intern, to be a fast effective contributor in the first 2 weeks of a job They clearly just wanted a cheap employee, rather than an intern who they could train. This isn’t how you treat interns. Most companies who hire interns don’t even expect them to provide any actual work, and they openly say this. It’s just a way of getting talent in the door and identifying it to try and get them on board when they graduate

It’s probably a shitty place. I wouldn’t bother going back because you are still only a sophemore and you have plenty of time to get new oppertunities next year. Enjoy your summer My job right now I’m not expected to be productive for the You are not Santa’s Helper Shirt moreover I will buy this first three months. I just have to learn to use their tech and build a calculator program with it. I was hired for 3 months on early May, and they’ve just let me go at the end of my third week because I was not ‘at the level’ they required. They knew exactly what I was and wasn’t capable of, and still made me feel like crap. So you have to understand that people are not to be trusted. Just trust in your skills. You need to clarify this ASAP. Are you saying you’re not working under a W2 but are being independently contracted and will pay your own taxes? Don’t do this if that’s the case. If you don’t know, figure out how you’re classified. If you’re independent they’ve misclassified you illegally to avoid paying their share of your Medicare/social security, and you’ll have a huge tax bill to pay the IRS.
