I have friends who LOVE their kids but had them in 2012 before the Yes I am old I wanna party like it’s 1985 Chicago Bears the Supper Bowl Shuffle skyline signatures Shirt Furthermore, I will do this world went crazy and now feel they would make a different decision if they were having kids today I know a couple who said they love their child (and they are excellent parents!) but said parenting was really different than they understood/anticipated and that if they could go back they probably wouldn’t have had a kid Can you reference the “ignorant parts” – I merely stated some facts and my own personal experiences, so I’m genuinely curious which part you find ignorant? 368 more repliesWomen cheat. Actually people for that matter. Everyone except me is a fucking dirty cheater that will cheat on their partner in a heartbeat. So that. I will probably just spend time on my motorcycles and taking care of my elderly parents. Get a cat when my current one passes away. It’ll be a quite life.

Yes I am old I wanna party like it’s 1985 Chicago Bears the Supper Bowl Shuffle skyline signatures Shirt: buy and enjoy this shirt

And there are plenty of people that can have children and desperately don’t want to. Do you go on pregnancy posts and call them insensitive on behalf of those people? Most people who don’t have kods it’s one of two reasons… Either they’re not ready to take on the Yes I am old I wanna party like it’s 1985 Chicago Bears the Supper Bowl Shuffle skyline signatures Shirt Furthermore, I will do this responsibility of kids or they’re not ready to sacrifice their career. Oh I have kids and I’m very happy. But at the time when I didn’t want to have kids, it was for these 2 reasons. And I’ve known many people also who don’t want to have kids for these 2 reasons. Of course I’m not saying that there aren’t any other reasons. But these two seem to be the most common. I also don’t think I’d be good at it. I don’t think it would be fair to traumatize someone just because of societal pressure. Also, when I’m off work, I want to relax, which I wouldn’t be able to do with kids. They’re like having a second job.
I’m in my 40s. I knew when I was a teenager I didn’t want kids. Never felt any desire to interact with children. My wife and I travel a lot. We also are working to retire by 50. I just don’t see any reasons to have children. I have my job as an engineer, plenty of aro/ace and childfree friends and I enjoy playing the Yes I am old I wanna party like it’s 1985 Chicago Bears the Supper Bowl Shuffle skyline signatures Shirt Furthermore, I will do this guitar, singing and writing songs. 28 y.o. and I’m not willing to have kids. But I’m not yet allowed to make a vasectomy (which is total bs in my opinion). I’m currently working towards my dream car, just found a new gf, and have a hundred thousand other things in mind. What really annoys me the most is, that some people just won’t respect my decision and try to convice me to have children. I wasn’t like my mother in that I never would have abandoned my son and could apologize and recognise my mistakes, and I cared about his studies, health and nutrition. But I fkd up in different ways anyways. I was too young and stupid when I had him and knowing what I know now, I would have waited to be more mature and economically stable and probably, I would have decided to not have children eventually. Anyway, I think there should actually be schools for parents, where they could actually have to deal with different kinds of children before they decide to have children, because it’s true they don’t choose their parents, but we can’t choose our children either.

Description for Yes I am old I wanna party like it’s 1985 Chicago Bears the Supper Bowl Shuffle skyline signatures Shirt

Spend your time however you want without kids. Literally doing whatever YOU want to do. Without kids you have the Yes I am old I wanna party like it’s 1985 Chicago Bears the Supper Bowl Shuffle skyline signatures Shirt Furthermore, I will do this time and money to afford to pursue your own interests rather than those of your kid. I am not sure I want my children to go through such situation. Commitment looks scary and comes with a lot of complications. I honestly never really have wanted kids, mainly because I find them annoying. They’re somewhat ok as babies, because it’s understandable that they’re annoying and it is kinda fascinating to see a tiny human, but at the same time, all the screaming and diapers and such – no thanks. I don’t find kids cute or funny like a lot of people do. In fact, the point where I feel like I might tolerate them better – as teenagers – is what a lot of people say is the hardest, most frustrating time. At least as teenagers their brains have developed to a point they are capable of understanding, whether or not they actually use it. Plus, if I were to get someone pregnant literally today, now, the child wouldn’t turn 18 until I’m 62. I’m just plain getting old to be a parent.
How will I spend my time? Working, caring for my cats, hobbies, etc…I’m not missing out on something I really want, so I don’t even think about it. Reason number one is I just don’t want kids. Other reasons include, there are too many people already, I don’t want to ruin my body, I can’t afford it even if I wanted to, and I really, really enjoy my peace and solitude. Emotionally, I’d like to be a dad and I reckon I could be a halfway decent one. Ecologically, I can’t be responsible for a child. The planet is on fucking fire and creating another person, just for them to suffer the Yes I am old I wanna party like it’s 1985 Chicago Bears the Supper Bowl Shuffle skyline signatures Shirt Furthermore, I will do this consequence of our reckless consumption would be the most selfish thing I could do. It’s not the only reason for me, but the biggest. My wife never had a strong wish for children anyway but would’ve been willing to go on that journey with me, but yeah, she wasn’t unhappy when I made up my mind that I don’t value procreation as much as I thought I would. As for how to pass the time: The fuck you mean? I like sleeping in till 10am on a saturday and lighting up a fatty by 11. Also I got hobbies. I’ll make do 🤙
I’ve been able to retire in my mid 50s and do quite a bit of traveling. I also have several hobbies, like pottery and messing with cars. I used to really want kids. I’m 30F now and it’s just not feasible. I make a decent salary but still can’t treat myself to a nice vacation whenever I want. I feel like I haven’t gotten the Yes I am old I wanna party like it’s 1985 Chicago Bears the Supper Bowl Shuffle skyline signatures Shirt Furthermore, I will do this chance to live life to the fullest yet and if I have a kid I’ll never get that chance. I dunno. Overall it just does not seem appealing to me. Social media likes to glamourize it and I feel like I can see straight through most of the bullshit. I dont want to be directly responsible for another life – having children means having someone entirely dependant on you and that’s… just terrifying and I want no part in it.
I love how you asked ‘how will you spend your time?’. Because its implied we’re not spending it with family. Like the Yes I am old I wanna party like it’s 1985 Chicago Bears the Supper Bowl Shuffle skyline signatures Shirt Furthermore, I will do this people who cry to childfree people they would be lonely, however they themselves are not spending time with their parents. The hypocrisy. I’m CF I’m gonna spend it with my cat and I’m planning on getting another degree Nobody out the there for me. I spend my time working, traveling around the world, urbex, mountain climbing and hiking, and playing various instruments. Life of a true loner. I never wanted to be pregnant or give birth, I don’t have the patience, and don’t want to pass on any trauma from my childhood. i would argue you should have a reason to have children, not having children is the status quo you should have a reason to change it. why have children just because?
Life is great. We both work, but we make great fun plans for travel, outings, etc. Financial decisions revolve around us alone. There were so, so many reasons. I just could not bring myself to bring a child into this world. It doesn’t seem like a good place. I knew I would worry myself to death and would also not enjoy the Yes I am old I wanna party like it’s 1985 Chicago Bears the Supper Bowl Shuffle skyline signatures Shirt Furthermore, I will do this monotony that is parenthood. I always thought I’d have kids – was sure of it really – until I made the choice not to, and then I felt so, so free. My time is spent on various hobbies, which I have time to get good at (music/physical activity/languages). I go to school and am always learning something new. I travel, host dinner parties and wine and cheese parties, etc., and relax, dance, and garden. I am connecting with my inner child and doing all the things she loves to do, and I am, in a way, reparenting her (me). I absolutely love my life and feel like I am thriving, and I have joy and the wonder of a child. The biggest thing that it comes down to, is I basically can’t afford it. I can barely afford myself, let alone a mini-me, let alone afford a good place to raise a family. Sure, my area is pretty nice, low crime for the most part, but rent is easily $2100/mo and up.
(That and I’ve been Asexual as long as I can remember, never understood the Yes I am old I wanna party like it’s 1985 Chicago Bears the Supper Bowl Shuffle skyline signatures Shirt Furthermore, I will do this hype or excitement for sex, I’ve never had much interest. Why is it such a “make or break” thing for some people?) I have a genetic condition that I don’t want to pass on to my kids. My condition could also cause problems for me down the line which would mean my kids might need to take care of me I have three different lifelong illnesses. I don’t want something to potentially happen to the child if I have a seizure or something. Also children are expensive. No kids here. Grew up in a dysfunctional family, and savor the peace and quiet. Sometimes it’s lonely, sometimes I wonder what I could be missing out on. However, whenever I talk to people who do have kids, they get lonely too, they seem stressed, and their experiences aren’t all that unique. Kids are all “above average” and have their own talents, hell I was one of those kids once! They just grow up to be regular adults like the rest of us, most of the time. I just weighed the pros and cons of having kids, and for me/husband, the “cons” outweighed the “pros.” That’s all. If you have lots of money and a reliable network of people to help, you’ll probably enjoy the experience. I don’t have those things, so I enjoy my free time, extra money and less stress. I’ll spend my time doing whatever I want. Which does sometimes include hanging out with my friends and their tiny humans. I adore children and I try to go for “fun aunt” vibes. Hopefully a couple will visit when I shrivel into a trembling prune. We just don’t want them. My whole life I could tell that my parents WANTED us and loved everything about being parents. I also saw other kids/parents where you could tell that was not the case. After growing up…realized I’m the later -> thus not going to have them. “Why don’t you have any tatoos?” I just don’t want them. With kids the stakes are too high to half-ass it if you’re not competely into the idea in the first place.
2) cost….some 40-50 year old: “Once the Yes I am old I wanna party like it’s 1985 Chicago Bears the Supper Bowl Shuffle skyline signatures Shirt Furthermore, I will do this kids are out the house I can’t wait to spend all this money on myself”…..na ima do that now before my knees stop working I don’t know, it just doesn’t appeal to me at all. I don’t want to go through the ordeal of pregnancy, childbirth and then having to devote my life to a child. I’m annoyed enough by my cat sometimes. Also a child is difficult even if you want it. Two of my friends recently had children after having both really wanted to have kids and they are EXHAUSTED. There are so many unexpected struggles and it was really hard for them. I like kids in general but have no desire to have them especially in a health care system that would rather see me die then provide help if needed also, I grew up witnessing financial struggle and limited resources. I saw a relationship based on requirement and there was very little happiness. I can say I may be open to adopting one day but that’s if I have decided to live more sedentary then I am now.
I value my alone time and would become frustrated very quickly if I didn’t have access to it. I want to focus on a career and building a life for myself and my partner. I want the Yes I am old I wanna party like it’s 1985 Chicago Bears the Supper Bowl Shuffle skyline signatures Shirt Furthermore, I will do this financial freedom to pursue things I enjoy for the sake of enjoying them. I hate public attention / embarrassment/ second hand embarrassment. I wouldn’t be able to provide them with the parenting they deserve. I like kids I just dont want them around me 24/7 365 I’m not anti-child so much as anti-natalist. But I feel so many people have a negative association with anti natalism when, for me at least, it is out of compassion and empathy. That’s what I do and because I want to do that, well that’s the reason for not having kids. Of course it is more complex, timing, partner, money, etc. The main reason probably is a simple “because I just don’t want to have any”. I’m not patient and after a while i feel like I’d be a little mean and i wouldn’t want to put a kid through that. Im good with other kids but i feel like it’d be a different story if i had my own.
I don’t think I’d be a good mother, I don’t want to pass down my mental struggles to another person, I don’t want to be responsible for another persons whole life, I find the Yes I am old I wanna party like it’s 1985 Chicago Bears the Supper Bowl Shuffle skyline signatures Shirt Furthermore, I will do this thought of being pregnant repulsive (for me), and I never seen a baby or child that I thought was cute. I know I’d be a good father but I don’t want to do it on my own. I had a partner of 11 years that I thought had potential but nope. It’s not life goal for me though so it’s not like a need for me. I just know the family structure I would want and if I don’t have it then it’s not happening. The economy/job market. I cannot guarantee that I can give a child a decent life, let alone a good life. I make 39k a year and I’m check to check due to HCOL and inflation. Body dysmorphia. I’ve always had body issues, for a time an ED. If I got pregnant, I would need to be in therapy the whole time just to make sure we both stay safe and healthy.
Genetics. My family has a lot of problems. History of drinking and substance abuse, mental illness, bad skin, bad teeth, and I’m a cancer survivor. It’s enough that I would be concerned of passing on any issues My reason is – children are supposed to be raised by people 50 – 60 yo, not by people in their 20ties. As long as children are raised by young parents I don’t see a point in having kids – I am young and I value my time and money far more than children. I don’t have the Yes I am old I wanna party like it’s 1985 Chicago Bears the Supper Bowl Shuffle skyline signatures Shirt Furthermore, I will do this desire to have children. My life wouldn’t be better with children. I want to come home from work and do whatever I want to do and not continuing to work (childcare). Sport, concerts, traveling, meeting friends whenever I want and not when I have a babysitter, cinema etc… Although I am not really sure yet, my main reason for objection is because I have gone through so much (generational) trauma, I don’t want to burden my hypothetical children with those kinds of things. Even though I put a lot of time and effort in learning to deal with things my parents didn’t want to deal with, and situations I’d rather have avoided… I would hate to be the reason my kids would feel as lost, confused and lonely as I’ve always felt. Especially considering the fact that I can see it with relatives as well. They try so hard, and still their children are subjected to things a child shouldn’t have to be dealing with. It breaks my heart. I wouldn’t want that for anyone. So until I don’t feel like I am at a good enough place to take care of someone else unconditionally, I won’t be a parent anytime soon.
I wanted to be one and done, but I can’t have children due to medical reasons. But tbh there’s a lot of things about having kids that would bother me and I might not enjoy. I can’t afford to be a SAHM, I like sleep, I don’t like parties, I don’t like most people, other kids would probably annoy the Yes I am old I wanna party like it’s 1985 Chicago Bears the Supper Bowl Shuffle skyline signatures Shirt Furthermore, I will do this shit out of me, if my kids had medical issues I wouldn’t cope well, teenagers annoy me, I wouldn’t like stranger kids coming in and out of my house, I enjoy alone time… I would do pretty well from newborn to 10..after that I really don’t know. Thinking about getting caught up in teenage drama or whatever makes me shiver thinking about it. I’ve heard too many horror stories. I was also bullied badly in school and I hear it pretty bad nowadays with that stuff. It would make me so sad to see that all over again. I also don’t think the world is in a great spot and I don’t see it getting better tbh. But that’s not the main reason for me or anything. But these are all things that would keep me up at night. I work in healthcare, and even people with well adjusted families die alone. Most people don’t die holding hands with family members. I’ve seen many family members completely overwhelmed with taking care of their mom or dad. It’s selfish to expect your family to quit work and take care of you 24/7. There needs to be better options for nursing home care and elder care. Unless you are from a rich family, I wouldn’t expect your kids to be able to take care of you all day…
We have pretty much screwed up the Yes I am old I wanna party like it’s 1985 Chicago Bears the Supper Bowl Shuffle skyline signatures Shirt Furthermore, I will do this environment. I cannot comprehend how and why population growth will flatline only around 2100 AD. The arms race of discontentment will continue to grow exponentially and will definitely have a serious negative impact on the future generations. I am chronically exhausted (not ‘mentally weak’ or lazy). Cannot even imagine having to go through and see all the phases of life once again. There are too many uncertainities and I am not selfish enough to create a toy for my entertainment and emotional support. My childhood wasn’t that good, abuse (verbal and emotional manipulation) I don’t feel comfortable saying it was abuse my therapist has a different opinion. I don’t want to be like my father or mother, especially not if I have kids that need emotional stability and closeness. I dont really want to cuddle and am shit and showing emotion besides overwhelming sadness/ aggression. I wouldn’t even decide to get a pet, no mammals that for sure. Struggling with intimacy i.e cuddling showing affection etc. And most of all, even if I like children and enjoy interactions, watching them learn, figuring sit out etc. I’m too scared to fuck up, i wouldn’t be a positive addition to their lives in the long run.
Edit: plus I need boat loads of down/alone time, that’s alrady stressful in a relationship cant imagine the Yes I am old I wanna party like it’s 1985 Chicago Bears the Supper Bowl Shuffle skyline signatures Shirt Furthermore, I will do this damage on a kids psyche. It just never crossed my mind to become a mother. No playing with baby dolls or roleplaying mommy when I was little. Slightly physically repelled by pregnant bodies, particularly in my teens. Also, not great genetics, mental-health wise. I actually feel like I’m my own kid and I’m raising myself lol. It’s taken effort to become a stable, upwardly mobile human being who likes herself a bit, so a child didn’t fit anywhere in that picture. I’m in my 40s now and no regrets. I spend time doing what I want, I make good money and have a life better than I ever pictured for myself.
From someone who has kids, you don’t have to have any reason not to have them. Parenting is a big sacrifice of your time, life and health and it’s not for everyone. I feel like a lot of people in the Yes I am old I wanna party like it’s 1985 Chicago Bears the Supper Bowl Shuffle skyline signatures Shirt Furthermore, I will do this previous generations had them even though they didn’t really want to be parents and it just fucked a lot of them and their children up. I do not want to experience pregnancy or labour (I know adoption is an option). I also do not want to propagate these genes 😂. My wife and I just don’t have any desire to have kids. We don’t want them and we don’t feel like they would add anything to our life. We are happy with just us. I’d rather spend my time and money doing what I want rather than taking care of a child. If people love having kids, good for them, but to me that’s a strict dealbreaker
I experience life as a very harsh, sad and emotionally hard place in general, so id not want another human to experience the Yes I am old I wanna party like it’s 1985 Chicago Bears the Supper Bowl Shuffle skyline signatures Shirt Furthermore, I will do this pain. We married when I was 40(f). I turned to my then fiance and told him to decide since I was on the fence. He said “if we have kids, you’re raising them”. My mother had to raise 4 kids while working full time with a husband. Hard no. And, honestly, I knew that would be his answer. I don’t want to. The same way I have no desire to own a horse or go to space. The thought of raising a child is so unappealing. My best friend is about to have a baby and I’m thrilled for her. I can’t wait to be the fun aunt but can’t imagine wanting children of my own. Can’t be bothered to do a school run for 15 years of my life. I like holidays outside of school holidays. Money
