I don’t follow esports. I’ve seen people calling him biodaddy and before I google him, I just want to say he is now biodaddy. I’m not making this announcement because I owe everyone the Womens national hispanic heritage month butterfly tree roots latino shirt and I will buy this details of my personal life, but because I want there to be more awareness about the problems our community faces. I actually thought that he was already out – I’ve seen him using Tinder during the times when he went back home in Richmond BC. Also whats more impressive is that he doesnt fit into the “gaymers that only play enchanters / female champs only” I’m a shy, nerdy gay kid who grew up in China. And when following the TSM roster (still my favourite roster ever), I always felt a strong kinship to Vincent, not because I knew of his sexuality, but because I really saw a lot of myself in him. And it’s so incredibly meaningful to me that he came out. I’m fortunate to have supportive parents and friends so I’m able to come out. And I’m sure Vincent’s story will help even more those kids who don’t feel as supported or represented, to feel more comfortable with themselves, and not feel as alone. One of my favourite quotes says “Every time someone steps up and says who they are, the world becomes a better, more interesting place.” Vincent probably won’t see this, but I really want to say “thank you”. Thank you for being so brave and honest. Thank you for making it easier for kids like us. Thank you for making the world a better, and more interesting place. Thank you and so so much love ❤️

So you’re saying we should just allow esports industry to continue to be bigotted and reprehensible to some people groups, including some of the people in it? He is extremely brave for doing this. Coming out is super hard on its own ESPECIALLY when you are surrounded by Homophobia. The gaming industry is homophobic? Seems odd to me. It’s a bunch of dudes playing a fucking game, the least “manly” thing one can do. I’d imagine it would be very accepting of such things. Is China a particularly homophobic culture? I can guarantee that its not a location thing. The gaming community homophobic, sexist, transphobic and racist. Obviously there are good people but there is a lot of shittu circle jerking and a lot of acceptance of crappy behaviour, even in pro scenes I have mixed feelings. Its great that he can come out but what he said is troubling + the attention to it surprises me too. It’s 2022 thought it’s just a normal thing right now. Regarding the gaming community, yea we are a bit misogynistic, a bit racist and overall toxic community but didn’t think it would go outside the game in a professional environment.
