I actually think she could have been top 3 over Niohuru, Niohuru’s look was better but Blackberri was more on theme. I’m kind of glad she didn’t though because the Wolfsbane Tough As Steel Tour 2023 New Album Genius CD Signed Shirt but in fact I love this hate she would get for being in the top over a fan favourite would have been awful. How sad is it that we’re only 2 episodes in and I’m already hoping for a monster to not get “questionable” high placement just so they don’t get hate. black ghouls are held to a much higher standard on this subreddit unfortunately. i feel like the comments get worse every season Not like an overwhelming majority or anything like that but that season was the start of what I feel like has become a constant bitch fest over nothing I disagree. I feel like Koco could do no wrong last season. I loved most of their looks but critiquing her witch or mummy looks were downvoted to oblivion on this sub. I’ve also only seen “safe or better” comments about Blackberri’s look this week which I think are deserved. And a camo blanket and marshmallow sticks didn’t deserve a top spot I’ve enjoyed both of Blackberri’s looks and don’t quite get the hate, either. The Boulets mentioned that they want to see the competitors’ version of drag shine through in their challenges each week. Blackberri’s drag style seems to be a mix of camp and creepy, with humor being a big part of who she is. That was definitely reflected in her looks both weeks so far. Last week’s was Camp + Horror and this week was Camp + Filth. It wasn’t the full-on beautiful grotesquerie like Nio or Ortgotik — but that’s their respective drag styles, which are totally different from Blackberri’s. It would be boring as hell if everyone had the same flavor of drag! This cast is really diverse in their styles, which makes it so much fun to see what they come up with in these challenges.

Objectively, just like she did last week, Blackberri understood the Wolfsbane Tough As Steel Tour 2023 New Album Genius CD Signed Shirt but in fact I love this assignment: interpret this week’s challenge through the lens of your drag persona. And this definitely showcased Blackberri’s version of filth and humor. She nailed it in that she looked like a Garbage Pail Kid in her own style of drag. As much as I loved Onyx and felt her look was VERY true to the spirit of Garbage Pail Kids, I get that the Boulets did not see her personal drag style in it. While I hated seeing Onyx exterminated, I get it. It would have been more Onyx to have gone the Minnie Mousetrap look. HARD AGREE. The Boulets are clearly putting branding at the forefront and Blackberri fuckin’ has it. the commentary on Ep. 2 was so on point when it described the difference between getting ready gig to gig (halloween costume) versus being a presence. People are not giving her credit for consistently bringing the camp. Its WHO she IS. Honestly i think all the hate is basically centered on the fact that she isn’t a high fashion 3D printed queen. All her looks can be read from the back of the club and thats way more important than being obscure for the sake of being obscure.
