Ironic that GOP response to appeasing pagans is that the Wolf howling at the moon T-Shirt and I love this problem is with the leak, not the ruling. My guess is that university educated women won’t see it that way come November. You could but it won’t get past the Senate. And as soon as Republicans gain control of both Houses, it is gone again. 50 vote partisan threshold is too low to reliably pass new laws. Elections have consequences. Unless you’re a Republican then the Democrats don’t do anything withing their power to get what they want. Does everyone remember when Neil Gorsich joined the SCOTUS, he said that liberals use the SCOTUS to push through agendas that should go through Congress? Why codify that a right to an abortion is only present up until vaibility, which is where a state interest in protecting the potential life of a fetus is then present and can overcome the right of bodily autonomy? Why should congress make that state interest argument? And is it Roe v Wade or Planned Parenthood v Casey? Third trimester or vaibility? Undue burden standard or strict scrutiny? The abuse on abortion is disgusting, Like sure overturning this probably isn’t a great idea, but the way these systems are used is dehumanizing and nothing makes me sicker. … Only to be challenged as unconstitutional, appealed to SCOTUS, and struck down by the same majority on Commerce Clause grounds. Sorry folks — conservative checkmate.

Yeah. With SCOTUS as it is, GOP will have an easier time passing a federal law to ban abortion in all the Wolf howling at the moon T-Shirt and I love this states, once they get POTUS and Congress. My point is I’m not confident a federal law on the issue from either side would withstand scrutiny at SCOTUS given its approach to Commerce Clause authority. This isn’t something SCOTUS will think the federal govt has any business getting involved in. You know, “states rights/dunt step on snek” stuff. Well, it still sucks for the tens of millions of Americans who live in states subject to this sort of nonsense. The state laws will stand — that’s why this matters so much. You can not make controlling abortion equal to controlling the house. Look what happened to the Supreme Court. It’s a recipe for disaster. Fight in court.
