Nobody want’s a pissed off mom. You’ve got it backwards. We are the ones way up there, and the sun is way down below. We are falling into it, but the sun is also very good at getting out of the way. Just before we are about to hit, the sun will dodge, and that’s what causes eclipses. Other times we bounce off of it, since the sun is also very elastic, causing earthquakes and the northern lights. In both cases we have to fall a bunch more to catch up with it again.

Also it won’t fall on Earth because the power of gravity depends on mass so sun has more mass than the Earth
