You can meditate and are meditating. Meditating isn’t being focused perfectly on your breath, it’s being mindful and aware of whatever phenomena occur. If your eyes open on their own, be aware they are opening. If your mind feels out of control with a million different thoughts, be aware that your mind feels like that. If you feel calm and focused, be aware that your calm and focused. When I began meditating, I benefitted from following some guided meditations on YouTube.
