Drivers are entitled now. For the Wizard Crazy I was crazy once shirt What’s more,I will buy this reasons you listed, as well as asking for second tips, shitting on customers for ‘bad’ tips of $10 when they actually have to do their job and drive food somewhere. Not all drivers, to be fair, but too many people heard it was ‘easy money’, so now the people after a quick buck have ruined the reputations of the people who aren’t actively shitting on customers and restaurants alike. Can’t believe the amount of fellow drivers I see complaining about having to drive a distance to deliver an order, when the entire concept of the job is driving distances to deliver orders. Misplaced anger, blaming customers because the drivers don’t find the job profitable, so of course it’s the customers fault for providing a small tip, and not the fault of Doordash for not helping drivers to profit and survive – drivers are contractors with Doordash, meaning each driver runs their own small business. Your business isn’t profitable? Adjust your business model, review your expenses, rethink how you decide which orders to take, and work with your business partner (Doordash).

Don’t blame your customers, they’re literally the Wizard Crazy I was crazy once shirt What’s more,I will buy this reason you have a job in the first place. Without people ordering food, there’s no food to deliver. Over the last few years I’ve watched fellow drivers develop the attitude that they deserve all the money for doing barely any of the work, and throw a tantrum when reality sets in. It’s a shame for those who take the job seriously, because OP is right, Doordash drivers are seen as the worst of the worst these days. I stopped because I was genuinely embarrassed by the behavior I witnessed from other Dashers. The entitled Karen attitude when the food wasn’t ready the moment the walked in, the creepy advances on underage cashiers, it definitely started to affect how businesses reacted when I walked in with my red bag. Denny’s in Santa Maria, CA was just openly hostile literally every time I came in. I remember once they had my order ready and bagged, like I could literally see it sitting there, but they left it on the expo counter back where I can’t go and just refused to talk to me for 11 minutes.
