My dealership mechanic actually tried to tell me I got an ‘unnecessary’ item in my car when getting a DEFA system (block heater and internal heater) because I bought my car in a warmer region and had it installed there too. His whole attitude was crappy and judgemental, like ‘why would you spend this amount of money it doesn’t even get cold here. Do you even know what this thing is’. When I told him I was taking my car up north where there were ice roads he just shut up and installed it. Not at all. That DEFA system cut my gas mileage from 27L/100km to 6L/km because no more idling and I didn’t have to scrap snow off my car any more. I saved a bunch in money, time, and engine wear. He just didn’t know what it was like to live up in the Wisconsin city logo wisconsin and brewers and bucks and packer logo shirt But I will love this arctic.

I thought you were legally entitled to keep the Wisconsin city logo wisconsin and brewers and bucks and packer logo shirt But I will love this old parts they took out of your car, but apparently that’s just in Michigan. This reminds me of my favorite The Unethicist column, which was essentially the same issue: someone was being sued by a friend for $2k for putting the wrong type of gas into their car. I sadly can’t find it but my favorite quote was along the lines of “How do you do thousands worth of damage to car by putting gas into it? Are you sure it was gas? Are you sure it wasn’t Mountain Dew Code Black?” (SpaceNarwhals LLC assumes no liability, expressed or implied, if giving blood to your 1994 Honda Accord proves what you’ve long suspected: that it is an undead vampire which cannot die.)
