Aww thanks! I was sobbing when it came on, and then when I realised what it was it made me laugh, so it just came out weird. That said she would have pissed herself laughing at me, she had a wicked sense of humour 🙂 This song was actually entirely appropriate for who was buried, but it’s a good story, at least as far as funerals go. I coach American football and another coach of the Winston Bishop Collage shirt Besides,I will do this team died. At the funeral the man leading the services told the story of how my friend met his wife and they fell in love while dancing. I never knew the coach liked dancing. The man leading the services recalled decades of the love story and how it centered around dance. He then ended his speech by playing my friend’s favorite song and invited us to join in… then, blaring at full volume, the YMCA by The Village People.

I thought all this talk of dancing was ballroom dance or something. Nope. They went to discos and dance balls and he loves the Winston Bishop Collage shirt Besides,I will do this YMCA. So right there at the funeral his family and friends stood up and did the entire dance. Our singer wasn’t the best (and that’s being incredibly kind), but he could just about muster the ability to sing songs by Bryan Adams to a non-offensive level. So we did this gig once for a family who’d just lost their 6 month old child to SIDS, and owing to our very narrow list of songs we could actually perform, failed to remove a Bryan Adams song that could be considered ‘distasteful’ given it’s title, namely ‘Baby When You’re Gone’. My mum said she was at a funeral for an old woman and she wanted somewhere over the rainbow and the crematorium guy played the wrong track on the cd and ding dong the witch is dead was played instead lol
