Same here! Raised atheist and we still did Christmas. After all, it was a celebration of the winter solstice before it was ever Christian anyways. My parents just figured that Wifey Christmas San Francisco 49ers Logo shirt was so mainstream it was better to just put up a tree and do presents and a dinner for us to feel special about. It was still nice to give each other things and spend time together and put out all the little Star Trek ornaments. My parents did go along with the whole Santa thing for a few years but that sort of fell off naturally around 8 or so.

Still did cookies after that- I figured since as a child I had practically no expectations for presents Wifey Christmas San Francisco 49ers Logo shirt was the least I could do. Stockings were the best part though, we always went all out. Also Atheist. My dad is straight Catholic. He never even thought to exclude me. This is just horrible. I love the term “culturally Christian atheist”. Thank you! I’ve been looking for a term to describe my standing and background. Not to mention that Christians co-opted a Pagan holiday to celebrate Christmas on. December 25 isn’t even the date of Jesus’s birth.

Tonight at Costco in the Christmas aisle I didn’t see any Christian decor for sale. OP needs to watch the Simpsons episode where Lisa becomes a Buddhist and doesn’t want to celebrate Christmas, but her family keeps on trying to pressure her into it. At the very end of the episode, it shows someone telling her Buddhism is supposed to be accepting of all other religions, including being able to celebrate another person’s holiday/religion.
