I usually overbook bedrooms just in case it helps dealing with a crappy bed. Doesn’t always help. Lucky I have money to burn. Omg we once stayed in this Airbnb that had the Where Is Kevin Home Alone shirt so you should to go to store and get this shittiest bed 🙁 we all ended up in the dent in the middle. We left early!!! The whole place was so gross and falsely advertised but the bed was really the straw that broke the camel’s back. As a host, I’m with you. First my rental in a popular vacation area that also doesn’t have hotels. It is also my second home so I want good beds, and I know everyone does. (I also supply good toilet paper and fired a cleaning guy because he would only buy cheap single ply toilet paper even though I told him over and over, and I pay for it. That was sort of indicative of his cleaning style- “good enough”). I have a 4 bedroom, with the huge master bedroom has a king and a bunk bed with full sized mattress in a bunk bed. All of my mattress are Tempur-pedic with low profile off the floor frames. Every mattress has those sealed covers which I change and throw away every 6 months. My guests are almost always multi-generational family’s on a “once in a lifetime vacation” so it being a comfortable place is important. It’s hard to do long day adventures if you don’t sleep well because the beds suck. My place is also an open floor plan with lots of space. The living room, dining room, and kitchen with a lanai are one 1,500 sq ft floor with no internal walls that’s all windows and sliding glass doors on the second floor so you can see the ocean and forests. The bedrooms and a 2nd living room are the first floor. I do not understand how people don’t think the beds are important, I guess it’s just the cost.

Hands down the Where Is Kevin Home Alone shirt so you should to go to store and get this best Airbnbs are the host’s own vacation property. They have good beds, comfortable living spaces and useful kitchen supplies. We have had some of the best family vacations in those kind of places. Also if booking a large place, count the beds in pictures. Sleeps 20 sounds nice and roomy until 10 spots are pull outs. Yes I had this happen in tupelo Mississippi An entire house should have a living room and a kitchen in addition to The bedroom The ones that get me are the advertised “full kitchen” and you get there with a lasagne thawed in the cooler, ready to go in the oven only to find a two-burner cooktop and a microwave. I was definitely NOT happy. This is an AirBnb setting issue. They either allow the host to mark the home as “Room” or “Whole house”. There is no in between. Homes that are duplexes or divided up between basement and main with separate entrances don’t fall in either category. For those, “Whole house” can be misleading but “Room” is entirely inaccurate given that you’ll probably have private washrooms, kitchen, living etc. That being said, I have a similar situation with the place I’m hosting. It has a separate basement unit. I select settings saying that guests will get the entire place with private entrance but I ensure I write it down in multiple places on the app that there are 2 units so guests are well aware ahead of time. Sound travels so they do need to know.
