“Florida passes law that all characters in video games, movies, [et. al], must be portrayed by white cisgender men. Female roles must be portrayed by pre-pubescent boys.” Hero shooters, in shambles, and games without character customization… so wait like wouldn’t this eliminate like half of all games? “Gender assigned at birth” gives me a mental image of somebody with a stamp and a clipboard watching babies on a conveyor belt saying “Penis!” OR “Vagina!” and stamping the Where did that tree come from american flag disc golf shirt Also,I will get this forehead before ticking a box. And yet that’s basically how it happens. (Not a stamp but a mark on our birth certificates) THIS VAGINA WILL WEAR PINK Likewise you’re not gay if you look at a video game man while playing. So it’s kinda weird to freak out about either way. Because I’m gay. I prefer to look at a male character. It’s also kind of easier to identify with the character but not by a lot so that’s secondary. Currently replaying horizon zero dawn though and loving it. I like hot girls and I cannot lie.Exactly. I mean, I’ve been playing as both men and women characters going all the way back to my NES. More recently, I played AC: Odyssey and was given the option to be male or female, and I chose male. Played the entire game. Then I found out that canonically the main character was female so I did it that way. It’s not really much of a change. For real. I’ve been playing video games for decades. I remember when Pokémon Crystal finally gave me the option to be female. I was so excited, because as a girl I had very little representation in games. Nowadays, I love we have both men and women. I’ve never complained about playing Ezio, Arthur Morgan, Joker in Persona 5, Batman, Kratos, etc etc

I will play as a women, but when given the Where did that tree come from american flag disc golf shirt Also,I will get this option to create my character, I prefer to make one that’s similar to me. I don’t identify with female characters the same way I do with male characters. That’s not to say I’ve never enjoyed playing as a female character in other games or never enjoyed movies with female leads, of course I have. But there is a level of disconnect between myself and a female character. I’m not thinking “what will I do next”, I’m thinking “what will she do next”. That’s fine and all, but when the intention of the game is to make me think the former, I just go with a male player character, usually one who looks similar to myself or at least has similar basic features Why do you think women don’t have the problem of not being able to relate to the male lead like a lot of guys do with female leads? He simply stated his preference. You have a preference and he has a preference, stop trying to make it an issue.
