They’ve been getting loans from our future for decades and, worst of all, not only do they not acknowledge it, they also blame younger generations for their insatiable greed… Fuck boomers. People blame the When the DM Smiles It’s Already Too Late Vintage T-Shirt Also,I will get this boomers for the progression of capitalism and yes, some of them are conservative but many are lovely progressive people. Some of the best things we have are thanks to the boomers, such as universal healthcare and welfare but those things they did have been eroded. Some of it is the typical older/younger generation rivalry but it seems to have taken on a very bitter taste due to the relative ease of a boomers life compared with a young life under neoliberalist capitalism. I think mostly because of how much boomers attacked millennials for not doing what they themselves did, not understanding that the times have changed. Boomers grew up when college was less expensive and the economy was healthier. Wages haven’t risen in proportion to productivity and inflation. Henry Ford, for all his faults, was wise enough to consider that paying Ford employees enough for them to buy Ford cars just made sense. Many boomers fail to consider how younger generations have it tougher. Boomers at their worst are the get a life generation. They were dealt a winning hand and see the struggles of younger generations as proof of their superiority and resilience. They ask non ironically, why don’t they just do x y and z like I did?

There’s the When the DM Smiles It’s Already Too Late Vintage T-Shirt Also,I will get this cliche that great men plant trees they will never be able to rest under. In that vein, boomers had the advantage of the greatest generation and the silent generation sacrificing a lot for them e.g. in the 30’s the New Deal laid the groundwork for the Boomers’ lives. Plus the GI bill in the mid 40’s helped stabilize society. Many boomers are against socialism despite having benefited from socialism their entire lives. They refuse to be wrong. That is deadly for some, not themselves, but their dumb stupid stubbornness is deadly to some people and if the boomers just could admit to be wrong, that would literally save lives. I don’t hate boomers, though, I hate that they behave like children.
