This is why I like dispersed motorcycle camping. Find spots not even Offroad trucks/jeeps can get to and just enjoy isolation Last October, my husband and I took our annual camping trip to Brown County State Park. About 4 spaces from us, this family was playing Christmas movies. This was going on past midnight, and it was loud enough that we knew which movies they were watching. This is why I stopped going camping, people just go to show off and troll other families. Idiots really ruin it all! Idk why someone would consider going camping if it means just putting a tent up directly next to a parking lot with other strangers directly beside you When you get up at 6am to enjoy your day, and these sh!tbags are in their tents hung over, make sure to bang those pots and pans real good. Oh, and turn that radio up, too. They at the very least got tickets I’m told. They were apparently angrily throwing a fit in their camp. Man, I would have to leave. All those people, the intense light, the NOISE. They should have just played ” going camping” at home in someone’s backyard. Just Had a similar issue at a campsite in Moab, UT. A group arrived at midnight right next to our site with at least 7 loud ass diesel trucks, and took over an hour to unload their plethora of ATVs, dirt bikes, etc. Quite difficult to sleep through in a tent … also just so excessive IMO

In my state camping is restricted to no more than 2 tents per campsite and no more than 6 people. Campsites are about 30′ apart and it’s lights out/quiet hours after 11 pm. So no generators, no floodlights, no radios, no loud vehicles, etc. My uncle, a 50+ year old longtime backpacker, climber, and overall outdoorsman has a saying for this. He calls it, “Ass-to-face camping”. I find myself constantly shifting between “people are great” and “I cannot fucking stand people.” When people do egregiously inconsiderate shit in a space that others share, it REALLY grinds my gears. I always wonder, were they just raised so terribly that they don’t even understand the concept of being considerate to others, or are they just assholes who don’t give a shit. Because if it was me out there and I knew others were camping, I would not be able to take that space and make it my own knowing that it would be bothering others. Like what the fuck.
