They don’t know about where their parents immigrated from, and a lot, like a huge portion of it, is simply capitalism and buying shit. And that isolates them even more since inequality it skyrocketing and a lot of them can’t afford to buy shit. My partner’s family has Russian ancestry and they have all these Christmas traditions I’d never heard of and eat food I’d never seen in my life. My family is Catholic and he is equally mystified by our traditions. You could probably say the Midwest has a culture and the South has a culture and like, California has a culture but that’s as far as I’d take it.
It’s probably more about ethnicity/heritage. Whatever, wherever or whomever has tried to convince you of this is toxic and you need to run. you are likely being indoctrinated by some very self serving people. This question is general and full of assumptions that are not true or so general as to be completely useless for a meaningful discussion.
