The design of the shirt is simple yet powerful. It features the iconic American flag, with its bold stripes and field of stars. However, superimposed over the flag are maps of various states, each representing a different jurisdiction where convicted felons are barred from voting. This visual juxtaposition serves as a stark reminder of the stark disparities in voting rights across the country and the ongoing struggle faced by millions of formerly incarcerated citizens.

The slogan “We The People” emblazoned across the chest of the shirt not only evokes the preamble to the Constitution but also underscores the inclusive nature of the statement. It proclaims that regardless of past mistakes or circumstances, all Americans deserve a voice in their government.
