Idk who had that idea but that’s crazy… I wouldn’t risk any medications during pregnancy. Typical doctors overmedicating patients. SSRIs are safe during pregnancy and while BF. I wish I was dead daily. If I didn’t take SSRIs, I wouldn’t have that issue. Because I would have already killed myself. SSRIs are a short term bandaid for a long term open wound and have just as many harmful effects as they do helpful. I will never advise SSRIs to anyone and will always speak against them, as they are terrible for people and their minds. BUT, Never would I allow an SSRI around an infant or baby ever. That’s how you create a warped mind for life with dependency issues. They are not bad. There are people that cannot take them for reasons you mentioned and others. Just like not everyone can take the same diabetes medicine, or blood pressure pill, not all people can take all SSRIs, or SNRIs, or mood stabilizers. That doesn’t make any of those drugs bad, and your attitude is one of the many reasons people die- because they get shit anecdotal takes from people like you and then refuse to take them. I have tried every other type of med that there is. The only combo that works for me is an SSRI in combo with a mood stabilizer and an anti anxiety medication. Just because you don’t like the way they work doesn’t mean that they don’t have value for those of us who are in desperate need of help. It’s cool that you’re judgmental as fuck, but no one needs your opinions, especially not a new mother who is looking for comfort.
