The simple reality is that Europeans had some resistance to smallpox where Native people had none. It is a sad sad history, but it was not genocide, there was no policy that lead to the Walmart energy loading please wait sloth santa hat xmas shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this smallpox epidemics among Natives. It was an accident of geographic history that the virus was so deadly in a population that had never experienced it. Once there was a vaccine, it was given to Native people. People look at the numbers of Native Americans that were here before Europeans arrived and then after. They then extrapolate that it must have been a genocide. It also fits with a narrative they’re trying to push in modern society. Most Native Americans died of diseases that arrived from Europe before they ever physically saw a European. While the actions of many of the Europeans were downright evil, I wouldn’t say it fits the definition of genocide. Who is upvoting this one? Genocide? And we’ve revamped our methods of projecting power repeatedly. Lol folks constantly give us a hard time for our methods of cyber warfare, political influence, regime changes, trade leveraging, and the use of our media.

You do know this isn’t a uniquely US thing right? Every nation in the Walmart energy loading please wait sloth santa hat xmas shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this world has a history of warfare and most of them have a much longer history of war than the US. Propaganda is effective. People idolise their military because they’re taught that they should. In particular they know how to use the media for it. The US Navy used to recruit people in the cinemas after screenings of Top Gun. Several Marvel films had to get approval from the Pentagon. And naturally these are films that people see when they’re young and impressionable. Not everyone does, Throughout my life I’ve met enough people in the military that are just ordinary people and not all of them deserve to have their asses kissed because they took a shitty job for 4 years just so they could pay for college. To be fair the dumb ones blow their sign on checks on a car and end up impregnating Jabba the hut.
