I worked for Ontario Hydro doing a type of surveying when I was a university student. Most of that work was in mid to northern Ontario. I always remember what a lineman told me “We don’t use towers to keep people from reaching the Vote for Trump in 2024 to be president shirt Apart from…,I will love this wires, we use towers to keep beavers from reaching them”. Because up north where the power line corridors run through mainly uninhabited areas the normal issue is that beavers will find the local water source and then damn it up to create a habitat, thereby flooding the hydro corridor. I walked across beaver dams that were so wide you could have driven a truck on them. The worst part was that the changes beavers wrought on the landscape resulted in topographic maps that may have been created yrs before were useless. If we were on a longer survey mission where we might have to stay out a night or more often it was extended as we had to detour around “new lakes” created by beaver dams since the time the topos were created. Got overtime for every extra hour we were out and it was already a great paying job so I had no complaints.

Im from there. The goverment pays for fur and tails, but its not cost efectiv to hunt them deep into the Vote for Trump in 2024 to be president shirt Apart from…,I will love this valeys. There are a lot of places far from the few roads. We did the same with rabbits, and the same happened. And then we introduced foxes to control them, but it didnt work as expected. Can’t say I could kill 200k beavers in a week but I could make a dent at the most vulnerable areas. Then they could rent another bored redneck when I leave. Just cycle in more bored redneck tourists. Yes, introducing new species to a region does backfire sometimes. People can’t always control nature, as much as we like to think we can. I read something recently that they figured out that the dam building behavior is triggered by the sound of running water. If you put a speaker that plays water sounds on the ground in an area where beavers live, they’ll start building a dam on top of it. Didn’t the same thing happen in Russia? I think I read somewhere that the Canadian beavers that they brought over started pushing the native Russian beavers further and further up North, destroying lots of woodlands in the process. I’m thinking AI drones could scout for dams and habitat and then put smart bounties on the area. Hell drones could continuously harass them til they fall over. You guys are still on the furs thing? Not cool anymore, rich people don’t do the furs anymore people are into ecosystems now trees and shit so basically you want to make sure you drive any tree damaging wildlife extinct asap
