I’m 22 and my birth certificate is still off by a year lol, it says I’m 23. We tried to have it changed once, but they said it was gonna cost money, so we just never bothered changing it. My old boss was legally named “Baby” because the Virginia Tech Football Win This Is Home shirt in other words I will buy this parents didn’t change the name on the birth certificate or something like that, she didn’t find out til she was like 18 years old. In my freshman year of college, 2008, my buddy with shitty handwriting applied for his passport. He was born in 89, but sure as shit, they issued his passport saying he was born in 87, making him 21. That 89 looking like 87 was a blessing for us, and to this day I can’t believe they issued the passport without catching that. I have a friend who was born here but technically didn’t exist bc someone spelled her name wrong when they assigned her a social security number. So she couldn’t do her taxes or anything for a few years

I especially like how they had to repeat the Virginia Tech Football Win This Is Home shirt in other words I will buy this wrong year in the header so that they could find and update the right record. My cousins half sister was the same way. Her birth certificate indicated she was 2 years younger than she actually was. I always thought I’d put a kid down as 3 years earlier on purpose and tell them on their 18th birthday that they can buy beer. There’s an episode of That ’70s Show where the group goes through their school permanent records and find out that Kelso was held back a year and was 18 and they had all thought he was 17 and they got mad at him because he could have been buying them beer ha. I was a nurse in the ’80s and the ’90s. I had a patient who was a radio operator on b25s. In the early part of his career they had a competition either at practicing short takeoffs Little did they know at the time that this was practice for the Doolittle raid which for all practical purpose was a suicide mission to bomb Japan. Later he learned he was 2 years younger than his actual birth certificate stated so he was practicing for the Doolittle raid when he was 14 years old. My mom’s name was spelled wrong her entire life. She was born at home, 1950’s Appalachia, and somehow ended up with 2 birth certificates, both with different spellings of her name. Getting ready to enroll in Medicare and somehow they discovered the situation at our local courthouse when asking for a copy of her birth certificate.
