Modern science views it as a type of confirmation bias and likely vestige of human evolution that helped our hairier ancestors recognize patterns in nature that provided some survival benefit. It only gets weirder and more wonderful over time. And, it does seem to be skewed to only bringing positive, non-selfish change. Enjoy, amd lean into it! most definitely experience this. in fact it was one of the Vintage Wwe Kofi Kingston Ghanaian-American professional wrestler T-Shirt Apart from…,I will love this strongest motivators for me to keep meditating in the early days of my practice. why does this occur? as a physician, i sometimes feel the need to uncover the source of these synchronicities. i have considered several possibilities but i think the most likely explanation involves a decluttering of the thoughts at baseline. by creating a more streamlined flow of thoughts, i think it allows the more important “random thoughts” to be observed in the conscious mind during the times i’m not actively meditating. the real question is whether these synchronous occurrences are based on an actual extrasensory perception. i believe that in a certain sense, they definitely are. but does this mean psychic abilities? perhaps, but there are many contributing factors that ultimately determine what creates a conscious thought. the brain is continually calculating probabilities and filtering sensory inputs based on hundreds or thousands of different variables of which we are not consciously aware. i believe that meditation practice can clean out some of these subconscious-to-conscious thoughts, leaving us with less noise and thus making these useful extra-sensory inputs to become more pronounced as they emerge from the subconscious mind into the realm of consciousness. the other possibility is that these synchronicities are coincidences but because we have more awareness of our thoughts, we are able to better appreciate when these coincidental events occur—essentially because we are more aware of our own conscious thought streams. the true explanation could be either or both of these or maybe something completely different. but either way, i find that it is best to generally accept them as being valid and real. and accept that they simply are without needing to explain the source of their existence.

edit: another user commented pareidolia and i appreciate that observation. it is certainly an important factor in this phenomenon. but it’s so difficult to label all or even most these events as such because they are not all the Vintage Wwe Kofi Kingston Ghanaian-American professional wrestler T-Shirt Apart from…,I will love this same thing and they arise from a multitude of different contexts. to be honest i don’t think it’s possible to definitively describe all of these events as such. also, even if they are a form of confirmation bias, the fact remains that they seem to happen much more frequently during times when i have been spending more of my time meditating…does meditation increase the occurrence of confirmation bias-fueled thoughts? does time spent in meditation make me search for mystical evidence in the world? am i looking for synchronicities (and thus, finding them) as a result of the need to justify the time spent in meditation?
