I think for democracy to survive in this technological era and America to remain competitive, college should be free. This makes me support forgiveness but also reform from the Vintage teacher knows more than she says notices than you realize shirt and I will buy this federal government to make college free for all and reasonably priced so the tax payers don’t get fleeced. My generation is the first in American history to be worse off than their parents and this does help some. Also everyone will benefit from this. In our consumer-based economy, more money in the hands of consumers means more consumer spending, improving the health of the economy and the nation as a whole Why doesn’t anyone propose a solution to the root problem (higher education costs) rather than proposing an obvious ploy to buy votes of a particular generation? I can get behind some forgiveness if there is anything behind it that looks to address the problem. Because otherwise it becomes a wealth transfer from taxpayers to the well to do. I think what people are missing here is that this could drive down salaries and drive up the cost of living. Not to mention driving up tuitions.

They should not talk about student loan forgiveness unless it is part of a larger conversation that involves making college affordable and compensating older workers who spent decades controlled by their debts. I say all this as someone who wants to see student loan debt forgiveness become a reality. The people need a bailout. If AOC really believed in these principles then she would be tabling legislation to fix the Vintage teacher knows more than she says notices than you realize shirt and I will buy this underlying/ongoing problem (something that far more Americans could/would get behind). Good for society but sad for the people who probably kicked their asses just to get rid of the weight of that burden. I hope they as well get some benefit. I went to community college and a cheaper school because I knew I didn’t want debt. If I knew this would have been an option, my life would look very different. This condescending dipshit right here. I support plenty of policies I don’t benefit from. But I paid for my education myself mainly by going to my safety school instead of being an idiot and taking out 100k for an English major at my dream school. I also worked. I am not going to be happy about paying for those people who didn’t. I made good choices. And this says nothing about the people who didn’t go to college. People with degrees on average work in higher paying and more prestigious jobs and get hired more easily. Stop fighting exclusively for the upper class and upper middle class. Dumbass
