Funnily, it is the Vintage Retired 2026 I Worked My Whole Life For This T-Shirt and by the same token and same molecule that causes the muddy flavor in some fish and water, that most dislikes! It depends if you smell it from the noise or from the mouth ! I wouldn’t be surprised if our sense of taste/internal smell was excellent, actually. We’re omnivores with an extremely broad diet and we’re very resistant to a range of toxins, so the ability to analyze what we’re eating might be very advantageous. I don’t have specialized knowledge about the topic but I feel like the obvious example of dogs being miles ahead of us there indicates our scent detection is much weaker than it could be. It’s not as simple as that. We also have an incredibly sensitive sense of smell for certain odours like petrichor, we just don’t rely on smell so much as a general sense.

It’s thought to be partly because of human bipedalism, our heads are much further away from the Vintage Retired 2026 I Worked My Whole Life For This T-Shirt and by the same token and ground so there’s a huge decrease in how much we could actually smell when moving, and having better vision probably compensated for that given that humans have uniquely capable visual tracking and also much better vantage points due to height. I don’t understand why my dog, who has a sense of smell magnitudes better than me, would consider another dog’s poop an edible delicacy. What’s going on there? Our digestion isn’t complete. Usually, there are still plenty of nutritions still left in the poop. A lot of mammals will re eat the poop to get more nutrients by digesting it again. Some, like rabbits, actually rely on it. On the first pass, the rabbit gut flora break down the cellulose from plants, which then has to be reingested to extract the liberated nutrition.
