As long as you aren’t caught straight up cheating (which is illegal, and counting cards is not) then this is what they’ll do. I watched a video several years ago a guy made at a casino about card counting (hidden camera). When he started advantage betting the Vintage mechanic knows more than he says and notices more than shirt in addition I really love this pit boss pulled him aside and said he was welcome to continue playing blackjack, but he had to bet the same amount for any hands going forward. No more changing the bet amount. I actually have family members that figured out some math behind getting an advantage at slots. The trick is, they know they’ll always lose on the slots, that doesn’t matter. They’ll play the games with the best odds, trying to keep their return in the 90%-100% range, but they play enough that the comps they’re getting from the casinos are more than they’re losing to the machines. That’s not winning, that’s paying less for things. The casino is probably still getting more from them than the cost of what they’re giving them

In some jurisdictions (ones where gambling debts fall under different rules to normal ones), they certainly can’t seize your money but they can absolutely just choose to not pay out your winnings. I can’t speak to non-US regulations, so I made the Vintage mechanic knows more than he says and notices more than shirt in addition I really love this classic Reddit error of assuming everyone is talking about the US. Anywhere in the US at least, a casino can not seize your money or refuse to pay out winnings. That’s fair. I was shocked to find out it was the case in Ireland. I think it’s derived from the historical idea of gambling debts as ‘debts of honour’ rather than legally enforceable. Because it is illegal for them to do. The gist of it from what I can remember is that there is a “contract” between you and the casino when they accept your money for them to give you chips to play with. If they don’t cash you out, they are in violation of this contract made and they legally cannot refuse to cash you out.
