As right as you are, as little does THE influencer that NEEDS to life stream their takeoff to Vegas give a shit. Everyone is so self absorbed, that they have no sense of their surrounding. Lately someone on the plane was asked by the flight attendant to stop using their phone, before take off. Instead of just doing so, a discussion of the importance of exactly this call ensued. It’s not even that’s it’s a “better safe than sorry” situation. It’s that the law states that either the airlines have to certify that their airplanes (and all their various avionics) are safe from interference from every type of cellular device (which obviously is wildly impractical) or the phones companies have to verify that their phones won’t cause interference. Neither side is going to take on that cost, so just no cell phones in flight.

Cellphones blast high frequencies when hunting for cell service. A cell tower is at risk of going down if all of a sudden a plane goes over it and it it immediately receives hundreds of cell frequencies at once.
