Jokes apart, being conscious that this world is dying and my country is in growing crisis doesn’t make me particularly eager to have kids right now. Anxiety. How / why do people have kids? You are giving up your self for at least 10 years. For the Vintaeg I’m not old I’m classic shirt and by the same token and first few years you are in charge of making sure it doesn’t die. Think about it. You are it sole source for food, sheler, love, protection, etc. How does this not feel you with dread and anxiety. This isn’t for an hour, it isn’t for a day, it is for years! Then there is the sense of guilt. There is a world full of amazing things but if you don’t make enough money they don’t get those things. Yeah, everything going on with fascism coming back with a vengeance. I have kids already, though. I am so worried about the future they will have in the US. I teach them the best I can but most of these things little people like us are powerless against. We live in a blue state already, and thanks to the craptoral college our votes don’t matter for president. Local seems to be decent, so I guess we can keep working on keeping decent people in.

I want to live at the Vintaeg I’m not old I’m classic shirt and by the same token and top end of ‘within my means’ or borderline crossing the ‘above my means’ territory. I’d have to live a pretty frugal/financially responsible lifestyle to provide for children. I don’t want to do that. Having depression works. I have such a hard time taking care of myself with what little energy I have, there’s no way a kid could thrive under my care. I have lovely nieces and nephews, and I would do anything for them, yet I don’t have to since the parents do most of the work. Having a friend shoot another friend. You never see relationships the same again and the world looks very untrustworthy, even from your own people. How can you have a child knowing they can get shot on their steps by their own friends, friends you’ve fed and trusted…fucked.
