This sounds like what I do for my spaghetti. However I would never claim that I cooked it from scratch because I have never once made pasta. As I use store bought pasta (can’t do jar sauce) the Vincent Valentine Final Fantasy Cerberus Keeper shirt Also,I will get this best I can claim is that I have prepared a meal. Dried pasta is considered a staple, along with canned tomatoes and dried herbs. A jar of pasta sauce with all the flavourings is not typically considered a staple. At least not where I am from, everyone is different… I made the sauce but I use premade noodles! I make a bunch of sauce and freeze it! I definitely use shortcuts, my friends are all literally ordering takeout everyday and I guess I was wondering if that was the norm I know people who eat takeout more than preparing anything at home. For some, it’s a tradeoff of money and convenience vs time and effort. When I was working two active jobs, I rarely cooked from scratch. I would heat stuff up at home, but it wasn’t making anything from scratch. I just didn’t have it in me.

Now, I cook when I have to, but it brings me no joy or fulfillment. I do it to stay alive and keep my family fed, but it isn’t pleasant for me at all. It just is, like cleaning a toilet. Not fun but necessary. So we still get takeout more than average, probably, because I choose to play board games with the Vincent Valentine Final Fantasy Cerberus Keeper shirt Also,I will get this kids for an hour rather than cook from scratch. If I had children I know I would do things differently I have to make do with dollar tree/food bank ingredients so cooking is like.. a puzzle that needs figuring out for me, if that makes sense? I’m a single dad with two kids, and your approach is the right one. I have no idea how people afford regular takeout with kids. Make a batch of something and freeze it and use it over a month. Walmart and the dollar store are great resources, as are foodbanks. Also, I’ve found cooking method matters a lot if you’re short of time. I’m not slaving over a stove stirring soup three times a minute.
