I had a similar situation working for a municipality. Bunch of toxic 40+ yo people that acted like high school kids. Was there for 2 years and resigned and they wanted to do a party for me since they missed my birthday, somehow, for 2 years in a row… all of our birthdays were on a poster on the Vicente Luque Vs Rafael Dos Anjos shirt But I will love this office door… I was the only birthday they missed. They did a farewell party and everyone showed up because it excused them from work. I told off every single person I needed to with the truth of course. I got escorted out by the city hall officer. Every single moment that day was worth it. The look on everyone’s faces was shocked. I could care less due to the fact they didn’t care about me and overworked the shit out of me. If you aren’t that kind of person, just say no to it. It ain’t worth it if you don’t get along with many of them. Say your goodbyes to the ones that were cool and maybe exchange contact info if y’all were like that. Ain’t nothing wrong with leaving a place you didn’t like.

If the Vicente Luque Vs Rafael Dos Anjos shirt But I will love this farewell lunch is a potluck in the office, politely decline. If the boss is paying for a catered lunch, maybe say yes. People will come and go during the lunch hour. Accept any good wishes and just be superficially polite. When I leave after 6 yrs of being there, they will not see it coming. There will be no time for a farewell to do. I’d rather have lunch or drinks with my friends at work on my way out than share time with people I don’t like (albeit free). Do the farewell lunch. Regardless it’s always good to leave on good terms even if you don’t care for your coworkers. Declining a farewell lunch is in my opinion sort of rude. Just be professional about it. Let them treat you, pick an expensive item on the menu, and don’t make it a long lunch.
