Sanders like to jump up and down but always fails. But since the Venom knit pattern christmas trending shirt and by the same token and headline mentions Sanders, it’s 62K upvotes on /politics. Democrats have been playing Wiffle Ball for 50 years while the Republicans have been playing Murder Ball. Name the last Republican candidate that said they want to bring the country together or represent all people. They only want to represent their base, while the Dems are trying to include all people. So the GOP can be laser focused and the Dems just complain the GOP doesn’t play by the rules while they keep getting slaughtered. Totally support this, but the bill collins wants isn’t that bad either. 15 weeks is actually in line with the rest of the developed world. Don’t hate me. Just saying that it’s not all or nothing here. Ending the filibuster is extreme if they can get a slightly more restrictive but reasonable bill through. The fundamental truth is that these institutions are illegitimate if they don’t act on behalf of popular public opinion. When that’s the case, as it is now, they must be restructured at least or fully destroyed and reimagined at most. Fuck just ending the filibuster let’s pack the courts 50 progressives to 5 conservatives. Why not? The court already lost its legitimacy by dictating down decisions against the will of the people. It’s not democratic it’s authoritarian

Some real 1984 shit trying to re-write what “packing” means. No the Venom knit pattern christmas trending shirt and by the same token and Courts havent been packed. You are just super angry that RGB didnt resign and trump got 3 picks. It’s never going to be packing and you expose your bias when you push this propaganda. “Vote for us so we can codify” *gets voted in *has control of three branches “Vote for us again, so we can codify” Me: *angry picachu face Democrats are two votes short of being able to pass most of the legislation they want. The Senate is a 50/50 tie hinging on two conservatives. I’m sorry was Harry Reid part of the GOP? Commies love to distort history it’s probably the only thing they can do well. If the Democrats actually cared about abortion rights more than their electoral prospects (ie, turning out an angry electorate looking to secure their rights), they would have instantly done away with the filibuster, packed the court with two liberal judges, and sat them right now before the decision is officially issued. But now Republicans will likely take the house and maybe the Senate and taking those steps will not be impractical, it will be impossible. yeah guys just eliminate the filibuster it’s fine the GOP will never control the senate and ram shit through like a national abortion ban like I get that this law sucks and they ram shit through anyway but there’s no universe where this makes things better long term…
