There are also times where lessons are being taught and it’s not the norm. My stepdaughter used to just PILE food onto her plate, then end up throwing half of it away. I talked with her about getting smaller amounts and going back for seconds instead of wasting food, and she accused me of somehow body shaming her for her choices? So finally one night, when she went to fill up her plate, I warned her that she’d be eating every last bite. She smirked and piled on even more than usual. 20 mins later she was NOT a happy camper, because she was less than halfway through that plate and completely full. She started taking less and wasting less food after that.
