What matters is how the voters in each state feel about it. We are not a democracy, we are a democratic republic and they are not the same thing. So without abortion being called out directly in the Constitution, the question is does that right exist in other ways. If it does not, then it is up to each state to decide.

Effectively, 14th Amendment protects a citizen from unreasonable control by the government, so for me banning abortion would constitute unreasonable control over a citizen. Not having read Alito’s text, I am not sure how he justifies that the 14th Amendment does not protect the right to an abortion, because prohibiting it appears (to me) to be an unreasonable control of a woman (citizen). And then there are a lot of OTHER RIGHTS that can then be “stripped away” in the future by using this same logic.
