Insurance steps in to cover, and hospitals take advantage of that by overbilling. So it isn’t free, you’re paying for it even if you never use it. Lots of people don’t feel like they should be paying for other peoples poor choices. A diabetic with an alcohol problem and having weekly ER visits and quarterly surgeries. Lots of people don’t want to be losing money for that. They feel they should pay for their own medical issues and not others.

When our country was setting up medicare for senior citizens, big pharma made our congress agree that we would NOT negotiate prices for care and meds.. Our weak ass congress allowed the GD pharmaceutical jerks tell them how it was going to be rather than the way it should of been.. This is what the concern is.. We will somehow come up with some bullshit free healthcare that requires us to give up our property, and possessions and god knows what other bullshit just to have care. Hell, in Tennessee, Phil Bredson’s adminstration quietly snuck in a law that if your on medicare and go to a nursing home or care facility past 3o days they get to take in your property upon your death to “pay” for the care received during that time.. It’s bullshit as the money was paid by the tax dollars and we all know they do way more careless shit with it than someone needing help..
