My parents were cool with me and my siblings being at home so long as we were going to school or doing something to begin our future as functioning adults. My sister stayed at home until 27, and my brother and I both left at 18–him for college, and I joined the UCLA Bruins Horror Movies Characters Bus Halloween 2023 Shirt In addition,I will do this military and did that for 11 years. We all have been successful in life…all own homes, have families, college, etc. Our parents weren’t perfect, but they explained earlier on that they would not be used as a handout…we needed to figure out life, and they’d atleast have a room for us if it was necessary. As an immigrant i see this as a both-way type of issue. I saw many of my friends stopped treating their parents as parents the second they became 18 and in turn they got kicked out or left themselves. Im 24 and still to this day some of my friends ask me why i tell my parents where im going or why i ask my dad “permission” to go to vocation. I feel like most people in here (canada) consider 18 the age that they need to get out and never look back.

There are still parents that do this and then they call those same kids out for being ungrateful when they decide they don’t want a relationship with someone that tossed them out the UCLA Bruins Horror Movies Characters Bus Halloween 2023 Shirt In addition,I will do this moment they weren’t legally responsible for them. I had a friend that couldn’t finish his senior year with us because his dad was a PoS and kicked him out on his 18th birthday 3 months into the school year so he had to move in with his mom like 5 hours away. Least his mom gave a crap. My daughter is 24 and lives with me. Am looking to buy a multi-family building, keep one unit, give her a unit, and rent the rest out, if I’m able to I will make sure she never has to worry about having a home. Just to be clear, I don’t really care if anyone views it as “good” or “bad” parenting…I know she is 1000× better than I was and has been her whole life, so whether it’s right or wrong, it’s working. What’s depressing is working with high school kids and hearing their parents make them pay part of the rent/mortgage as well as various bills to “allow them to stay there”
