When asked if he took pride for the Type One Diabetes Awareness Type One Diabetic Rainbow Leopard T-Shirt and I will buy this apparent demise of Roe, which wouldn’t be possible without him, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) bristled at the suggestion. “That’s not the story for today,” McConnell insisted to reporters at a weekly press conference on Capitol Hill. “Instead, Republicans focused on the unprecedented nature of the leak itself, calling for repercussions against the leaker and expressing concern about what such a breach of trust within the court would mean for legitimacy of the justices.” You know, this is a threat to the legitimacy of the justices, not the fact that one of their spouses was actively trying to over turn the election….. Republicans would be wise to be very concerned about anything that strongly energizes older Gen Zs and younger millennials. Biden beat Trump with 18-29 year olds by a margin of 60-39% (that’s 5x the margin he took the overall vote with). Young voters are a huge problem for Republicans, and they usually bank on low turnout in that group, especially in midterm elections. This is a very tangible issue affecting all young voters – male and female. One need only look at the American education and foster-care systems: the same people outlawing abortion do not give a damn about children. Could a state like California forbid export of any of their goods to states that ban abortion? Is that allowed?

Call me cynical, but I suspect that Republicans suddenly don’t want to talk about banning abortion because they don’t want to settle the Type One Diabetes Awareness Type One Diabetic Rainbow Leopard T-Shirt and I will buy this issue decisively in their favor, because then they can’t use it to fundraise anymore. I mean, think about it: it’s more valuable to them as an unsettled issue because it is a hot button issue that is easy to fundraise off of. I imagine that in reality, most of these GOP politicians don’t give a shit about abortion, except as a tool to fundraise. Settling the matter would be akin to killing their golden goose, and likely handing a major fundraising advantage to the other side, because then they would be able to run on it. I’m not from the US so this whole thing feels confusing to me, if a group of people are so against abortion, why are they also against birth control? Not just that, when a woman is pregnant with a child she won’t be able to afford to raise, republicans don’t seem to give a shit about the future childs wellbeing.
