The way I heard it described, picture a conga line where everyone is throwing out their left foot and left hand. Until someone decides to start throwing out their right foot and left hand. The person in front feels like they’re being kicked, and the Twelve Days Of Catmas Cats Xmas shirt and by the same token and person in the back feels like they’re kicking them, so they start to change to match. Then the people in front and behind of them, and so and so forth until the whole conga line is chaos. My grandmother on my dad’s side & my aunt on my mom’s side both died from CJD. It’s an absolutely awful way to go. A heart parasite that after you suffer cardiac arrest it restarts your heart 4 minutes later only to kill you again. But yah I get your point but I think they mean that everything else is below 100%. Like even a gunshot to the head is only 90%

Twelve Days Of Catmas Cats Xmas shirt, hoodie, tank top, sweater and long sleeve t-shirt

Took a genetic test and one of the Twelve Days Of Catmas Cats Xmas shirt and by the same token and weird mutations I have apparently makes me resistant to vCJD (the transmissible kind). Kind of cool but also kind of useless since it’s so rare. Oh well, more brains for me I guess? Several years ago my mom got a call informing her that a family friend had been diagnosed with some form of prion disease (likely spontaneous CJD, not transmitted). Suddenly my peculiar interest in this rare family of diseases, which had only grown since writing a paper on it in college, was useful and relevant. I was able to explain to my mom the circumstances of our friend, and that there was very little time before they would degenerate into a state not unlike advanced dementia. I told her this without actually knowing that this stage had already begun, and that the friend had not had enough time to arrange for medically assisted death (you cannot consent to that with cognitive impairment beyond a certain point). This was a surreal experience for me. Something I had studied, and which seemed to be very distant and rare, was suddenly personal and very real. There is no cure or even treatment really. Once you begin to show symptoms your life is on a timer.
