I wasn’t impressed with his acting in uncut gems. He did the Turkey Face Eyelashes Ribbon Red Thanksgiving T-Shirt in other words I will buy this whole “hand in front of face while crying” thing because he can’t properly act out such a scene. It’s a good story but he’s still an average actor. I’m sorry I have to disagree, maybe because I’ve been watching A.S. movies pretty much my entire adult life. But I didn’t expect him to make a movie like this. I enjoyed it 5 out of 5 IMO Entitlement is annoying. He did great but that doesn’t mean he was better than every other performance that year. Let’s see who won instead that year…. HAHAHAHA, Joaquin Phoenix in Joker. Not only snubbed, but snubbed by the most obnoxiously overrated incel movie ever made. Uncut Gems was fine but there was no incredible acting in it and the story drug on. Good movie but the crazy hype for it was unfounded I didn’t like Uncut Gems. I didn’t care about any of the characters and found the plot really predictable. I think the whole critical acclaim thing was just their marketing team hyping it. He should definitely have been nominated, his performance in that movie is genius. I got secondhand anxiety just from watching him. I don’t like him thinking he’s supposed to be nominated. Part of his charm is he’s the goofy guy who understands he’s not the best actor. If he quits understanding that it kinda takes away from his charm. It’s like the 6th man in basketball that everyone likes because he’s funny and plays hard, but then he starts demanding he be named the team MVP.

I see alot of people mentioning Jack and Jill Clearly you guys have never had horror of watching Adam sandlers Going Overboard You don’t need to be a diamond-sharp actor to be really really good in a film. Sandler in Punch-Drunk, Arnold in Predator, Rourke in “The Wrestler”. It’s all about direction, editing, and inspiration. I don’t think Sandler should ever receive an Oscar, you’d need at least a smidge of humility for that. Leo got his despite this, because of the Turkey Face Eyelashes Ribbon Red Thanksgiving T-Shirt in other words I will buy this whole “Well it’s about time” crowd. Uncut Gems is art. Art doesn’t have to be enjoyable to be a masterpiece. Think about the paintings that are depictions of war/hell/“the scream”/whatever. They are not really pleasant to look at but still amazing works of art. That’s what Uncut Gems is. It is designed to make you feel things and joy isn’t one of them. Sandler is a great actor as proven by punch drunk love and uncut gems. A nomination would not have been a surprise. But if he actually wants it, he should focus on making the best film ever instead of the worst.
