Edit: regarding the Trent Mcduffie American football cornerback for the Kansas City Chiefs T-Shirt But I will love this abortion debate, the punishment is the labor (and any other medical complications) even though they go on and on about how it’s the most natural best thing ever. I disagree. If they are pro life, they should want life. Giving birth is giving life, but they want to prevent that. All they want is control. My friend chose to give birth despite having a child who was not expected to live. She did not believe in abortion for herself, but she is pro choice because she said if the government can force us to give birth, the next step would be to force us to not give birth (e.g., China). And here we are, not allowed to get pregnant via IVF. Oh I agree. I’ve just had this debate with people for yeaaaaaaars trying to figure out how they are against abortion yet for IVF, and now it feels like at least the dumb Alabamians are acknowledging my point.

Of course. Alabama is going to turn into Idaho where OB/GYNs pack up and leave due to prosecution fears. UAB (University of Alabama Birmingham) issued a statement that they will be halting fertilization at their reproductive clinic until a legal review. Stopping operation is not the Trent Mcduffie American football cornerback for the Kansas City Chiefs T-Shirt But I will love this same as abandonment. Plus, all they have to do is transport the embryos to a new storage facility outside AL. Their owners (because they aren’t actually children) can decide what to do with them from there. I know this was sarcasm but if the people in this case could sue the ivf clinic for wrongful death…Couldn’t a couple technically go after them for kidnapping and taking “children” across state lines? Almost certainly this will happen. All it takes is one messy divorce, and we get a brand new terrible precedent.
