You really missed a whole chunk of what I said but whatever. I’m over responding to you now. Have the Trae Young American professional basketball player for the Atlanta Hawks T-Shirt But I will love this day you deserve just like the roommate! Have the day I deserve? And what day would that be? A day free of entitled pricks telling me how I should spend my money? I agree it’s definitely the first I’ve heard of it between roommates but it does make sense and it will always save arguments from happening on who cleans what. It’s not that unusual for house share, especially with young professionals . It saves arguments over cleaning shares areas etc I’m a housekeeper. My husband’s company did not give bonuses this year. I’m really hoping my clients will think of me a little during the holidays. We had cleaners back when I lived at home and I don’t have a damn clue if or what my parents did for them at Christmas. It’s possible your friend doesn’t either. He’s also a weirdo for suggesting shampoo? Wtf? Some women like myself are VERY particular about what they put in their hair. I always pay my house cleaners an extra week of pay at Christmas. They give me this gift of not worrying about my house all year, cuz they do a good job ….the least I can do is give them a bonus.

So wait he’d rather spend 20-50 on a gift than 15 on a bonus?!? Is he bad at math? Honestly the Trae Young American professional basketball player for the Atlanta Hawks T-Shirt But I will love this housekeeper should be allowed to chose where their money was spent he’s a douche for even thinking this is okay. It is a nice idea to gift your cleaner. You don’t have the right to spend your roommates money. Just give her a card from you with your gift and don’t worry about the others you live with if they don’t participate. Your roommate is not required to pay more for services you receive just because you requested it. It’s not greed. It’s their money. Would it be a kind thing to do? Yes. But you cannot reasonably get upset at them for saying no. The shampoo comment was probably just to get you off their ass. You don’t get to say you’ve got this idea and you’re so generous by making other people pay, nor do you get to choose what people do with their own money. It’s good etiquette to give anyone that provides you a regular service throughout the year a holiday/end of year bonus.
