I was talking with my friends about what we were picking and then when we went to present, my friend went first and said the Tory Lanez Big Face Canadian rapper singer songwriter T-Shirt in other words I will buy this exact same thing. When I was a trainee, I and the other trainees had a regular weekly meeting with our boss, and it was a ritual that he would tell us a joke. The joke was always the post-credits Alice/Geraldine joke from the episode of the Vicar of Dibley which had been broadcast the night before. I genuinely believe it didn’t occur to him that we might have televisions. I was a new employee at this company, and we have children as clients. I told one of the higher ups before the next client, that the client was a kid of one of the other employees. She told me no they weren’t, not to lie and then quizzed me on all the details. (I’d been working with the client for three weeks and met and worked with his mum). Well in come a whole bunch of other employees, and this lady starts telling them all “did you know the kid was a child of x blah blah blah” a) absolutely breaking their confidentiality for gossip, and b) she just told me i was lying about it!! Not quite what you’re asking. But someone I worked with listened to the same podcast as me which was loosely work related. We discussed a particular episode where the host discussed some change in the workplace to boost innovation.

That colleague then went and repeated the Tory Lanez Big Face Canadian rapper singer songwriter T-Shirt in other words I will buy this anecdote from the podcast verbatim in a meeting with a potential collaborator as if it was his own. I was genuinely flabbergasted at him doing it. It was really weird. A manager of mine, many moons ago, would regularly ask for ideas on how to improve sales / profit etc. I swear every meeting with the directors he would spew out everyone’s ideas as if he had just thought of them. My ex was trying to impress a stand up comedian we got talking to after a gig and started telling one of my family anecdotes as if he’d witnessed it. When I interrupted him to tell him to stop being a prat, the comedian interrupted me to tell me to let story tellers talk. When I was at school I tried to tell the joke about the pirate who goes into a pub with a steering wheel attached to his groin. The barman asks why he has the steering wheel and the pirate responds “Arr, it’s drivin’ me nuts!”
