Work or yourself and expand your social circles. There are people who are doomed to be lonely if they don’t make changes, but not in general. My favorite comments here are all positive and hopeful but you don’t know that. I can respond to whatever I want. I appreciate your comment too. If it was purely a numbers game, then people in urban areas would be way more likely to to find love than people in rural areas, and that’s not how it works. I think the assumption is that eventually they’ll lower their standards so far that finding someone (whether or not they should be with that person) is inevitable. Yeah, doesn’t happen for everybody. Especially if they aren’t trying. My mother was single for the last 25 years of her life. It’s more likely to happen than not. Now, the question of will it be a loving and healthy relationship that lasts for many years is iffy. But the odds of finding someone for some significant period of time is in your favor if you’re putting in some genuine effort. Obviously if you literally never leave your home your chances go down and this is becoming increasingly more possible given remote work positions, but most people aren’t in that boat. It’s not really about being sure, it’s just trying to encourage people to not fall into a hole of self pity and further hurt their chances of finding someone. Finding someone can be difficult, but if you just give up then you’ll always run that risk of missing out on a lot of opportunities. Life isn’t a race, there really isn’t a universal finish line, so take things at your own pace. Unless you intentionally stay stagnant, your life is always changing It’s just a platitude similar to “god has a plan for everyone” etc., just a statement made to pacify someone who doesn’t understand why things are going wrong. You get what you work for, for some it’s easier than others, but that’s a truth for most things in life. You can’t be passive about it, if you want it you have to work towards that goal or it will just remain a dream. No one is owed a relationship or love.
