The argument I heard most against it was, “but what if I want to go there, I hate the smell of smoke.” Well, if you hate the smell of smoke, then why the fuck would you want to go there? Just don’t play them, teach your kids not to play them, and ignore it. That’s the best deal you’re likely to get. Fuck blizzard. Fuck Activision. And fuck all the dickheads who say cosmetics don’t effect gameplay. The whole point of Diablo games is to level up and get cool looking shit and fuck shit up. Now the greedy fucks want to sell the game for a ridiculous price and sell cosmetics? All under the justification that the game will be ‘live service’. I’m sure the billions they will make from sales can support the cost of servers and development of an expansion without needing to try and milk the whole community. only way to make it stop is to stop buying their games not just the premium and other editions people have to stop buying any game from any developer that sells release tiers and hide 50% of the game (that should be included at launch) behind a DLC paywall. If people refuse to purchase these games eventually the developers will get the hint and stop but unfortunately enough people will keep buying it that this will continue to be a thing for the foreseeable future.
